I think, too, that Snape's anger might not have come merely from Harry
viewing that Pensieve memory but the fact that he showed some trust
which Harry immediatly violated.

Wow! That's quite a theory, my brain feels confunded! :-)
I recently finished reading a fanfic story about Snape at
fanfiction.net called 'This Present Darkness' by Elizabeth. There is a
chapter at the end called 'Addendum One My Bones Are Tires Daddy'
where the author writes kind of a post-oopt recap, with the new
information from the pensieve, and from Snape's memories. I happen to
like some of her theories, regarding Snape and the whole Death Eater
scene. To sum it all up, she talks about how the young Severus was
quite bored and lonely at home (shooting down flies) and how he did
not interact much with his parents because of how abusive his father
was (we all know the scene from Snape's memory). But the extended
theory that I like is, that in this story, the Snape home is a huge
gothic manor, with lots of paintings around etc... And all the
paintings treat Snape in almost the same way as Black's mother's
portrait treats Black. So the abuse continues.
I have a my own theory about why Snape's parents were arguing,
everybody else does so why not?;-)
I think that perhaps, his father was quite dark but his mother wasn't
into the Death Eater scene, so they were arguing about that. I doubt
that his mother was a half-blood, so that can't be the reason. I am
quite adamant that Snape is a pureblood wizard. Simply because he
seems to have been brought up in a similar way to Draco Malfoy.
