I've been thinking about this as well.Ok...I didn't really think about it
until you mentioned it, but it helps strengthened another thought I had.
Did you notice how he risked being seen (and was seen) by saving Bellatrix?
He could've just left her there to be captured like the other DE's, but he
didn't.
