I am on that one with you. The sorting hat tryed to put hermione in
Ravenclaw, but she argued with it!
As put before, she is not the first one in line, the hero, but the
woman who supports Harry's back. What would be of Harry without
Hermy? For a 11 year old in PS/SS she already showed a lot of bravery
against her own moral principles:
1. lied to Mcgonaggal about being in the toilet looking for the troll
(then she was only a freshmuggle, from a dentist family)
2. went to see Fluffy again, despite it being a monster (ok, not to
Hagrid)
3. went ahead with Harry despite Ron being injured
4. maintained her brains despite being about to confront Snape (so
they thought)
And i could go on and on, on other books as well.
If Hermione is not brave AT HEART, then who else is?
"has the heart in the right place, Hermione does" (Hagrid)

Nineve.
