My objections have to do with the fact that Riddle himself says that
his father was a muggle. And that his father left his mother when he
found out that she was a witch. I don't think that Harry will be
surprised to find out that Ginny is a witch. Not to mention the fact
that Harry isn't a muggle. Both of his parents are magical (although
his mother was born, so far as we know, into a muggle family) Riddle
says that he was named after his father (Tom) and his grandfather
(Marvolo) before his mother died. We assume Marvolo after his
maternal grandfather. And Arthur is not easily mistaken for Marvolo.
(although, FWIW, I am having difficulty integrating the information
that someone else posted about Riddle being in Slytherin and the the
Sorting hat saying that only purebloods were allowed in Slytherin.
The question of course is, is that still the case, or was it only the
case while salazar was around)

And since Riddle/Voldemort is such a powerful wizard, I really don't
think that we can assume he has been obliviated. People who have been
obliviated usually have blank spots at best, not well known histories
that they can easily describe.

The "jet black hair just like Harry's" might be a clue to his being
somehow linked to Harry genetically, but I don't think that means he
is Harry's son.

I do, however, think that the time turner room was importnat, I just
don't know in what way. My impression about the "laws" for time
turning from that room and from PoA are that it is limited and might
only be limited to one's own lifetime (a la Quantum Leap) as we see
the man trapped in the time turner going back to baby age and then
aging but not disappearing into another time.
