I think that we no longer need to worry about Kreacher. I think he
has been granted his fondest wish by DD as a result of his betrayal.
He is now a "Head on the Wall". That would key in with his laughing
during DD's interrogation of him. For his actions, DD has told him
that he has earned his place on the wall. IOW: It was a Laugh of Joy
at being found worthy of being beheaded and mounted.
(Sick Aren't I <g>?).

That is because you are misinterpreting what is being referenced.
Sirius is the last living MALE Black - If he dies without offspring,
the Black Name/Line dies with him. Bellatrix and Narcissa are no
longer using the Black Name - They are now Lestrange and Malfoy
respectively. This is a case of needing a Male Heir "To Carry on the
Name". In theory, Drago can get his name changed to Black or
Black-Malfoy (or Malfoy-Black - I forget the order rules for
maintaining the family names and if the order is dependent on the Sex
of the Offspring). I know that a Wife goes Maiden-Married (not
Married-Maiden) if she keeps her Maiden name in the form of a
Hyphenated as opposed to Linear Name List.

Why not just go for the obvious. Neville is a good Potions Student
(as show by his Potions OWLS) but due to his fear of Snape is unable
to perform. Of course Snape would show up high on his Fear List.
