It's very possible I think that Tonks was a DE, because she also 
says to Harry in the 'advance guard' chapter "I bet you wouldn't 
mind hiding that scar sometimes" (not word for word, sorry) but 
maybe that's what she did with her DE mark... just a thought- she 
didn't seem like a DE but it kind of makes sense.
