This may be an old question, but I can't find it addressed in the
archives, so here goes: Why, in OOP, was Hermione at Grimmald place
with all of the Weasleys during the Summer?
Thank you stomrbringer for asking this- I've been meaning to ask this very question for days and keep forgetting what I was going to email about. I don't understand this, myself. It seems as though Hermione has been at the OoP headquarters for at least a month. Did she ever go home? If so, for how long? Who contacted her? Was it Ron, and he just wanted company, so she came to Grimmauld Place? Well, that couldn't have worked... unless Ron talked to Dumbledore about her coming, because as we know Dumbledore would have to tell her where it was. How did she get there? What do her parents know? I would think they'd be a little scared.
My second question is why did the Weasley's move to Grimmauld Place during the summer? Just to clean it up? It's obvoius that the only OoP members who are living there are Sirius and the Weasleys, and Lupin some of the time. The rest of the Order lives at their own home (or Hogwarts, for the teachers), so what was it about the Burrow, or the Weasleys, that made it so dangerous? We know they lived there before Harry came, several weeks before... if it was because Molly and Arthur knew that Harry was eventually coming, well, why not just move there closer to the time when he would be arriving? If the Burrow was that dangerous, why leave Grimmauld when summer was over and the kids had gone back to school? I'm a little confused.
