I also question the General Security at the Ministry. Harry and
Company's Badges should have been of a Limited Access Type and should
have tripped alarms if they entered a "Restricted" Area without the
presence in their party of someone with a Restricted Access
Badge/Pass for that Area. They should have been issued "Visitor"
Level Badges unless they were cleared for a Higher Level Badge (or a
"Visitor" Level Badge with Automatic Access to some other areas that
usually require a higher level clearance due to being pre-authorized
due to the purpose of the current visit [as would be the case of
Harry's First Visit where his being scheduled for a Trial would
require that his badge FOR THAT VISIT be authorized for those areas
which his Trial would require him to enter]). Those of us here who
are old enough to remember "The Man from UNCLE" will remember this
principle in action on the show. The Badges granted access to
different areas of UNCLE HQ and going into an area your Badge did not
authorize you to visit tripped off Alarms and Lock-Downs. In a Magic
Ministry, I would expect that the Badges would be just as efficient
and have the extra "OK if in the company of someone with the
authority to take you somewhere" override - Otherwise a Security
Officer would trip alarms trying to take you into custody and to a
restricted-access lock-up area.
Me - Maybe Harry used the Fred C. Dobbs (Dobby ?} spell from the Treasure of
Sierra Madre -
Badges ? Badges ! We don't need no stinkin' badges ....
{sorry couldn't resist}
I was more concerned how all the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort got into
the MoM -- i dont think he signed in at the front desk .... {maybe he used
the Dobby spell ?} not to mention Sirius....
