Reference is in OoP on top of page 838 - us edition

If that is the case, then I assume that Harry would try to retrieve
Sirius' mirror and "pass it" to Sirius beyond the vale - what would
Harry have to lose in trying?

If the mirror that Harry had was James' old one then I also assume
that it was modified to communicate with Harry. The mirror seems to
be a ** two-way ** version of the "wizard photographs" mentioned in
SS that Hagrid had given to Harry (pg 304 - us scholastic trade
paperback ed).

"It seemed to be a handsome, leather-covered book. Harry opened it
curiously. It was full of wizard photographs. Smiling and waving
** at him ** {my emphasis - seems that they know Harry is looking at
them} from every page were his mother and father."
