She was hiding her face. Incidentally, "I see no difference" could just 
as easily be read as "it's not that bad" (i don't think it was his 
intent, though, but still)

Well, if you were a 13-year old he would not exactly be insulting you 
by saying you acted 13, would he? incidentally, i thought "Exploding 
Snape" was quite clever, if only it had been deliberate rather than 
freudian.
