Don't Forget that Even Dumbledore Can Be Wrong (or elusive)

All of a sudden it hit me ..........
Read Sybill Trelawney's prophecy again very carefully ...... ( OoP pg 841
us ed.)
....
uhhhh ..... where does TRELAWNEY say directly that "the one with the power
to vanquish the Dark Lord" is indeed Harry or .... even male ?
We know that, by his own admission and as Harry's mentor and protector,
Dumbledore hid a lot from Harry for his own safety and protection........
and the pensieve contains Dumbledore's thoughts --- NOT necessarily the
prophecy itself, and not necessarily his COMPLETE thought on a subject!
(Pen-sieve = thought strainer meaning that some things might
get left out....)
Think about the details and descriptions of Snape's Worst Memory. The
numerous posts here, though not canon and never explicitly stated by JKR,
express that what Harry saw of Snape's memory could not have been EXACTLY
what happened due to different points of view. etc........ so why should
this far more important "pensieve prophecy" be considered as a complete
recording rather than an edited one ?
Also notice the extensive use of dots to indicate pauses or snippets of
thoughts , rather than one complete thought. Maybe, just maybe, Dumbledore
got out his WPP {wizard's Pensieve Processor} and did some editing before
showing [his version of] the prophecy to Harry......
Maybe the COMPLETE prophecy was more like what follows ....
(I have added the capitalized text. Pleas note that my MPP {muggle pensieve
processor} is not quite up to snuff ..... .... and you of course can edit
your own version of what the prophecy was. My time-turner isnt 100% accurate
or authorative either.)
------
"The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord approaches ..... [BUT
SUPRISE, IT IS NOT HARRY POTTER WHO WAS] ....... born to those who have
thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies.... [HA HA ... THE DARK
LORD THINKS IT IS HARRY POTTER, SO HE WILL TRY TO PREVENT HARRY POTTER FROM
BECOMING A THREAT] .... and the dark lord will mark him as his equal, but he
will have power the dark lord knows not ..... [BUT THAT WONT MAKE A DAMNED
BIT OF DIFFERENCE BECAUSE HARRY POTTER IS NOT NECESSARILY THE ONE WHO WILL
VANQUISH LORD VOLDEMORT! WHEN HARRY POTTER AS A BABY SURVIVES THE DARK
LORD'S INITIAL ATTACK, HE WILL BECOME FAMOUS FAR AND WIDE IN THE WIZARD
WORLD AND WILL EMERGE AS THE DARK LORD'S GREATEST AND MOST OBVIOUS THREAT.
BECAUSE OF THAT, THE DARK LORD WILL RELENTLESSLY PURSUE HARRY POTTER AS LONG
AS EITHER OF THEM LIVES, ] ...... and either must die at the hand of the
other for neither can live while the other survives ....... [ BUT YOU,
ALBUS, SHALL BE ABLE TO PROTECT THE BOY HARRY POTTER FROM THE DARK LORD. YOU
CAN REST ASSURED THAT EVEN IF THE DARK LORD IS ABLE TO KILL HARRY AFTER YOUR
PROTECTION CEASES, ] .... the one with the power to vanquish the dark lord
will be born as the seventh month dies ....... [JUST LIKE HARRY WAS ......
AND IT COULD BE ANYONE AT ALL ...... ANYONE AT ALL.... AND THOUGH THE DARK
LORD MAY THINK HE HAS WON, HE WILL BE VANQUISED IN THE END.]
--------
Think about that for a sec ..... Now who could this new more complete
prophecy refer to ? If you buy into this interpretation, then you can make
an argument that ANYONE can defeat the Dark Lord .... Everything that
follows till the end of the meeting is Dumbledore's interpretation of the
prophecy, not the prophecy itself!
Even more suspicious, is how JKR describes the answer to Harry's question
"it might not be me?"
"I am afraid," said Dumbledore slowly, looking as though every word cost him
a great effort, "that there is no doubt that it is you."
I wonder whether DD was indeed telling the truth, considering how much he
hid from Harry before. Maybe it is vitally important that LV along with
everyone else think that Harry Potter is indeed the main threat, giving
someone else the power and chance to kill LV. And just maybe, that is why DD
expends such effort to lie again, and why he cries at the end of their
meeting.
"THE ONE" can refer to Neville, as Dumbledore suggests, but also to Ginny,
Hermione, or even Luna.......... especially Luna. Somehow I get the feeling
that her birthday is coming up shortly .... and her Mum was a quite
extraordinary witch, you know,.......
A pensieve for your thoughts ?
Sam {who has entirely too much time on his hands, so to speak}
