An interesting point for this is the powers of the Phoenix song to 
strengthen someone. Now I may be reaching with you but for it may 
have nothing to do with ancient magic but more with the specific 
powers of the Phoenix. But with JKR there is not too much that you 
can discount before she disproves it.
