Snape and Hogwarts

It struck me today while I was stuck in traffic listening to GoF, 
when Voldemort talks of the three DE's not present at the cemetary.
One is a coward, that seems to be Karkaroff.  One who has left him 
forever, who will be killed, that seems to be Snape.

Does Dumbledore's protection (Harry is safe at Hogwarts) also extend 
to Snape?  Is he protecting Severus from Vmort as well?  We know 
Snape leaves to go to Grimmauld place (unplottable, presumably a safe 
place), but I don't recall seeing him off the grounds.  OTOH, I may 
not recall correctly, but it's something to consider.
