I have always wondered this. He doesn't appear to like his job, and 
certainly doesn't seem to like being around children, so why does he 
stay? I'm sure there are many theories, but I have always thought 
that maybe he made some sort of deal with DD that he would spy for 
him if he would offer some protection. 

I just hope that we get answers to our many questions before the end 
of book 7. I have this funny feeling there won't be enough page space 
to wrap everything up that we have been discussing/wondering about. ")
