Jake Said:
>>> 1) J. K. Rowling mentioned in an interview that Albus Dumbledore
means "white" or "wisdom." Hedwig is white. Owls are thought to be
a symbol of wisdom.<<<

Lady Macbeth:
Albus is Latin for "white". However, "Dumbledore" is almost certainly
derived from English "dumbledor", which means bumblebee. The first part of
the word is likely imitative, the suffix "dor" meaning "beetle". This would
suggest that if Dumbledore WERE an animagus, she may play along the lines
she did with Sirius Black and make him a white bumblebee.

Jake Said:
>>> 3) ***SPOILER*** Dumbledore tells Harry in book five that he has been
watching him more than he knows. This would make sense if Dumbledore
was Hedwig, because Hedwig was around Harry in Grimauld Place & at
the Dursleys.<<<

Lady Macbeth:
It could also mean that he has an alternate way or ways of watching over
Harry, just as the Ministry does. Harry has certainly been watched since
well before he ever got Hedwig, otherwise they wouldn't have known until the
start of the school year that Harry didn't get his first letter, or where to
address the subsequent letters to.

Jake Said:
>>> 4) Watch the movie version of book one (J. K. Rowling served as a
consultant). It visually suggests that Hedwig is Dumbledore several
times. For instance, watch the scene where Harry recieves the Nimbus
2000, where does Hedwig land after delivering it? Who normally sits
left of Minerva?<<<

Lady Macbeth:
<G> My muses are saying to leave this alone, but I'll just comment briefly
since my Albus/Minerva 'shipperism is kicking in. <G> That would truly
support all those Albus/Minerva fans out there, she certainly seemed happy
petting that owl. <G>

Jake Said:
>>> 5) Hagrid "purchases" Hedwig.<<<

Lady Macbeth:
Muses are REALLY saying to leave this one alone, so I will...

Jake Said:
>>> There are more reasons, but I will end with these six. This, of
course, is just a theory. I do think, however, that it makes sense.<<<

Lady Macbeth:
On the surface it DOES seem to have some possibility, but I think there's
too much contradictory evidence to show otherwise. Other than the few
points I've made, a number of others have brought up other points, including
that Hedwig is supposed to be female, &etc. Also, I don't think it would do
the school much good for those extended periods of time that Hedwig was
locked in her cage if that meant the Headmaster was locked in a cage on
Privet Drive as well.  ^_^;
