This is a good theory. In book 2 there are a few things
to keep in mind. 1. The Dursleys do not know magic so
a simple charm to unlock the lock would do the trick.
2) We know that DD can apprate and disapparate. 3) The
M.O.M keeps a register for the century of animagus.
Being that DD is over 150 years old, he would be in
the last century registry. 4) In OoP the O.W.L.
examiner said he saw DD do things with a wand he had
never seen before.
