Hello I'm new, and switching spells

Hi everyone, I'm new.  My name is Kelly, I'm from Ohio, and I love 
HP.  

I have refinished OoP for the third time now and there is a 
line in the book during the Transfiguration O.W.L. where it says 
that Harry forgot what Switching Spells were.  They've been 
mentioned in the other books.  

For example, in the first book, Hermione warns Harry not to break anymore rules because he might lose all the points she won from McGonagall for knowing 
about Switching Spells.  They are bound to be important 
somehow, because we still do not know much about them, and 
they are still being talked about minimally.  Does anyone have 
any ideas about them?  It's been bugging me.
