Yerrrs, but he recognises his parents in the photo album that Hagrid 
gives him at the end of PS. He recognises them again in the Pensieve 
in OoP. I wonder if the Mirror works rather like the Room of 
Requirement (summoning)- in that it can manufacture an image of the 
actual thing/person? Ron certainly recoognised the Quidditch cup.

Me:
Perhaps... maybe the image of his parents was created from his early childhood memories (up to Oct. 31st), and the rest was just guesswork on the part of the mirror... whatever the principle, it's surely a very sophisticated piece of magic. But where does it keep it's brain?
