Me:

Here's something I haven't seen suggested, at least not in the
current thread regarding teacher's spouses.

If Hogwarts is quite large, with rooms that appear and disappear,
what's to say there aren't whole apartments scattered here and there
that can only be accessed by those who have a special spell? There
could be spouses and families living on premisis that are never seen
by students.

They could come and go (shopping, jobs outside) without being seen.
There are other means of becoming invisible without using a cloak,
Dumbledore said this, but I can't remember where. They can't apparate
into Hogwarts, but there could be a hidden passage out, and then
either portkeys used or apparation to jobs in London or Diagon Alley
or Hogsmead.

Donna, who thinks Dumbledore knows a few more tunnels (and a good mny
other places) than even Fred and George, and thinks him and
McGonagall would make a good pair.
