Erm... I suppose I should have made this more clear... Voldemort had
attempted to kill the Potters 3 times, and they have narrowly escaped
each time. So according to this theory, it was ESE!Lupin who sold
them out those three times. Obviously he didn't want to kill Harry
yet, cuz Harry hadn't even been born! It was Peter who ended up
handing Voldemort the Potters' the fourth and final time, as only he
could betray their location, being secret-keeper. And everyone
ASSUMES it was Peter who had been passing LV information for a year
before-hand. But what if it was Lupin?

Right, he didn't go out of his way to save her. But he did give her
an option, and she refused. I've always wondered why he gave her the
option at all.

You didn't address my point here: Lupin is more disturbed when he
hears about LILY'S death than he is when he hears about JAMES'
death. Why? James was his lifelong friend, not Lily.

The most curious example is when Harry is telling Lupin about the
Dementor-induced memories. Lupin starts to reach for Harry, to lay a
hand on his shoulder, then stops and pulls back. This scene could
potentially be explained this way: Harry's description of the death
of his mother has re-awoken Lupin's grief. He starts to reach for
Harry, being someone else who grieves over his mother's death. Then
he remembers that Harry is not only Lily's son, but James' as well.
He snatches his hand back quickly.

Hope this has made my original post *somewhat* clearer.
