I can't stand reading about this any more - becuase it's so obvious.
Watch the movie very carefully during this scene - Snape is watching
Harry very carefully during the Sorting, he then notices that Harry's
scar is hurting him (Harry rubs it with his hand) and he also notices
that Harry is looking at him as this happens, Snape immediately starts
looking *around himself* and his eyes fall suspiciously on Quirrell.
How did you all think Snape suspected Quirrell in the first place? -
it's so obvious. Snape is very observant in every book - even Harry
states this in GOF "he was putting two and two together in a way that
only Snape can"
