Goblins and House-Elves? Wild and Domesticated?

I've suspected this for a long time, unfortunately the lack of 
Goblins in OoTP didn't confirm anything.   Could House-Elves and 
Goblins be divergent species?   

Possibly with the House-Elves once being captured Goblins enslaved 
during an old goblin war.  Centuries of selected breeding, forced 
domestication and submission turning them into what they are now.

There are some physical similarities, most notably their noses and 
hands.

Any thoughts or comments?  Has this been discussed before?  I've 
searched for it, but was unable to find anything.
