This is actually something I've given alot of thought to both pre-
OotP and post-OotP. Pre-OotP, I was convinced that the significance
of the Pheonix in the name lies in one of it's traits:loyalty.
Pheonix's are very loyal birds, or so we're told in CoS.
(Incidently, that leads me to one of my other favorite topics, how
Voldemort deals with a wand core that is loyal to Dumbledore). Look
in CoS the way Fawkes came to help Harry, because he was loyal to
Dumbledore. Originally, my OotP prediction was that the Order was
going to be something similiar to what DA ended up being(only with
Dumbledore being kicked out first, and the group formed in loyalty
after) and that Harry was going to name it, remembering back to
CoS. However, since that didn't happen, I'm still working on
reconciling the theory of loyalty to the naming of the group.
