Aside from the authors personal choices of events, lets look at these
things logically...Lord thingy explains (and it makes sense) why he
would wait until the end of triwizard tournament to snatch Harry.
1. He would think it a delicious idea to take Harry from under DD's
nose, return to a body, and then kill Harry. (slap DD in the face)
2. In addition, he knows that Harry is protected when at the Dursleys
and it would be harder to spirit Harry away during the school year.
Because the focus was on the Triwizard Tournament, everyone would
waste a whole lot of time trying to figure out what had happened at
the middle of the maze and he would have time to follow thru with his
plan.
With regard to the prophecy, I think that it was a calculated
move...You have to leave out bait to get the evil to reveal
themselves.
It was DD's hope to get Harry to be able to block these messages to
avoid putting him in harms way. Since LV desperately wants to hear
the prophecy, it would eventually dawn on him that Harry is not
getting the messages to get the prophecy for him...he would need to
enter by stealth to get ahold of it.
My Humble Opinion.
Cheers,
Troy
