Maybe Ron and Charlie are a closer magically overall than Neville and
his dad, (Brothers/shared parents vs father/son) so Charlie's wand is
a better Magical Match for Ron than Neville's dad's is for him. Maybe
Neville's true magical talents are closer to his mother's than to his
father's making the wand somewhat of a hinderance to him... that or
the thought of "living up to" expectations of him to be like his
father which I think has something to do with it as well. So in that
sense, I agree with Sue. Wheather consciously or unconsciously,
Neville has been hindered by the use of his father's wand, once that
"pressure" is gone when he gets his own, he is likely to show some
improvement....
Just playing devil's advocate...;)
