I think Mr and Mrs Evans were being open-minded - if my brother had turned
out to be a wizard, I'd have been jealous for all of 5 minutes before
pestering him to show me something cool. Petunia is the freak because she
can't accept Lily's magical gifts.

I also think Hermione's parents are open-minded, not secret wizards. Look at
their daughter - bright, inquisitive, blessed with a hunger to learn, learn,
learn. We Muggles can produce children like that. The Grangers would have
encouraged her in whatever path she'd chosen in the Muggle world, if she
hadn't been a witch.
