Doesn't this raise the question of what credentials one needs to be
hired at Hogwarts? A friendly letter from Dumbledore with an offer?
No interview? No resume? No day-long prodding from potential
colleagues to see if you cut the mustard? Seems a bit of a hit-and-
miss way to go about getting staff. I know Lockhart was hired
because he was the only one around willing to take the job, but
surely Lupin and Moody had something more on their resumes than "I'll
do it cuz no one else wants to." I don't say this to disparage
Molly, but surely one needs to have some expertise in the subject one
teaches, and there isn't much evidence she's had any practical dark
arts defending (keeping Fred and George in line and putting up with
Percy doesn't count!)

D'you think Hogwarts needs to revisit its hiring procedures when it
comes to the DADA position? DD's "we do seem to run through them"
attitude just doesn't seem to cut it anymore.

PS--My guess is it's Arabella Figg--and I pray she sticks around more
than one year.

Red Inkstone
