Hi All,

I noticed that banshee has been mentioned in book 2,3,
and 4.

CoS ch 2, Dobby's warning:
Mrs. Mason screamed like a banshee and ran from the
house shouting about lunatics.

PoA ch 7, The boggart in the wardrobe:
Where the mummy has been was a woman with floor length
black hair and a skeletal, gree-tinged face - a
banshee. She opened her mouth wide, and an unearthly
sound filled the room, a long, wailing shriek which
made the hair on Harry's head stand on end -

The banshee made a rasping noise and clutch her
throat; her voice was gone.

GoF ch 21, The house-elf liberation front:
(Seamus said) "Sounded like a banshee...maybe you've
got to get past one of those next, Harry!"

Hmmm...could the next DADA teacher be a banshee, well
part banshee at least? Then she would lose her voice
at the end of the book...

All DADA teachers we've encountered so far lost
something at the end of the year, Quirell lost his
life, Lockhart lost his memory, Lupin lost his secret,
Crouch!Moody lost his soul...seems like this banshee
is a bit luckier than her predecessor.

Also...could Mrs. Mason be part banshee? Imagine how
Vernon and Petunia would react to this bit of info ;)
