This is a quite interesting prediction and very thought of. It is
possible that the new Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher could be
a banshee. This is a valid prediction and seems quite concievable
however when you said:

I honestly can't see Mrs. Mason being part banshee. Surely they
would be more knowlegable about the Wizarding World and most likely
would not of freaked out at the sight of the owl. Also I do not
think that Mr. and Mrs. Mason were characters that were to be used
again. I think their place was more to give JKR a way to have Dobby
use magic and it be blamed against Harry, ect. I honestly do not
think that they are otherwise substansial to the plot of the story.
I really enjoyed your prediction of the new DADA teacher being part
Banshee....maybe she'll have long black hair which would give us a
clue. Another point of why she may be part banshee has just arisen.
In GoF we are introduced to 2 (well sorta of 3) part wizard, part
something else. Fleur, part Veela part wizard, and Madame Maxime,
part giant part wizard. The third is just a continuation of the
third which is Hagrid, this obviously wasn't the first time that we
met him but it was the first time that we found out that he was not
just a really tall person and that he was in fact part giant. This
could be JKR way of setting up a half banshee teacher without this
being new news. You know?
3 Days and Counting!
