Where does Hermione live ?

Does any book say that Hermione is from England?  Her parents are 
never at King's Cross station, either to drop her off or to pick her 
up.  The Dursley's pick up Harry, and they live about 3.5 hours away 
from London (that's how long it took them to drive to London in book 
1.)  I always got the impression that Hermione's parents weren't 
there to get her because she had to catch another train, and they 
would get her at another stop.  I always thought that Hermione 
either lived in a London suburb, or somewhere in Wales.
