The prophecy + the Veil room in the Dept. of Mysteries leads me to a
real conundrum. I think that, now, besides the two obvious endings
to the series (Harry triumphs, or "Lord... Thingy" triumphs) there
is a third possibility. Harry could, based on Luna's not-too-loony
assertion that the dead are behind that veil, take himself down with
Voldie. The gang was very very tempted to peek and see what was in
there... and Harry has nothing to lose either way now. His family
and Sirius are dead, and I think a rash young teenager might opt to
ignore that loyal band of the living at Platform 9 and 3/4 in favor
of his "real" family behind the veil.

So: does anyone have a very firm opinion re: James and Sirius the
bullies, then? That's a relationship snag that might prevent Harry
from going down with Voldie. I was so disappointed to learn that
the Marauders were barely better than Dudley's miscreant buddies.
Snape might be an odious guy, but that's trauma in the Nth degree
when you're a teenager. I can remember kids acting just like that
in school. It's baggage that most adults are unable to forget, and
for good reason. Maybe it was his worst memory because Lily saw his
underpants. :( There's a plot twist!
