"As I was reading the ever-growing list of posts, the same type of
thought occurred to me, but "AND THE DARK LORD WILL MARK HIM AS HIS
EQUAL". So once again, it is our choices that control our destinies.
LV chose to regard Harry as his equal, not Neville. "

I don't have the book in front of me so I can't check the exact
words, but it's actually that specific phrase that makes me wonder
if it really is Harry.

When Voldemort first comes up to Harry at the big battle, right
before he tries (yet again) to AK him, he says something to the
effect of "you've been too much of a pain to live, you've irked me
too long". Much different from his response to Dumbledore. We know
he fears DD but it doesn't sound like he's treated Harry as an equal.

Not to say that he has even taken notice of Neville. Possibly
nearer to the end of the series he'll truely pick one of the two?
I'm really not at all sure that it's Harry, at least at the moment.
And I agree also that a scar is not the only way to mark someone.
(Why would Dumbledore take that as a given? Voldy marks him as his
equal by scaring him? Does Voldy have some sort of curse scar as
well, or is this a reference to his also cheating death...?)

Too many thoughts,
PJ
