I don't think this theory holds much water simply because Dumbledore 
admits to Harry that the reason he (DD) didn't teach Harry 
Occulmency was because he didn't want to weaken his mind enough to 
show Voldemort how close the two really are. I think the opening of 
the mind is just a side effect of intensive Occulmency training. But 
then again, all things are possible...
