Me now:
My impression of the arch was a little different. They were in the
Department of Mysteries which appeared to contain those things that
even the magicians do not understand. The Brain, Prophesies, and of
course, the afterlife. I took the reason that Sirius disappeared
into the arch was not going into the arch which destroyed him but
that it was because he was destroyed that he disappeared into the
arch. That the arch is the gateway to the afterlife. I will have to
reread it though. By the time I got to that part, I was reading so
quickly I may have misunderstood.
