My mind is still reeling as I just finished the book, tearfully, a
few hours ago. This was the first book that actually made me cry,
(although I almost cried reading four and five during the more
touching moments). I think things need to sink in for a while before
I can get the full effect that the book had on me.

I find myself feeling very sad... maybe because I read it too fast.
And not just Sirius's death, but many other aspects of the book made
me really sad... Neville and his parents, blatent physical cruelty
towards kids (Umbrigde's "lines"), Snape's past, & the negligence and
brutality toward magical creatures like house elves and giants. I
have so much that i would like to ask and discuss with other HP4GU
members, but I think I may read the book again before delving into
theories. Then I can read it without my emotions getting in the way

But even if OOTP does not end up feeling like one of my favorites (I
still love PoA), one thing is for certain - Book 5, what the world
regards as merely a "children's book" has had a profound impact on
me. Indeed, more so than many highly acclaimed "adult novels" that I
have enjoyed reading. I just hope Harry wins...

Anyone else feeling this way as well?

Brooke
