There's validity to the "war is hell" theory for why Sirius is dead,
but I still say there's plot value to the newly revealed fact that he
was related to so many of the death eaters, possibly in conjunction
with the whole Protected by Blood thing that Dumbledore explained
about the Dursleys, which isn't really that useful otherwise, since
it just means LV can't harm Harry while he's at Privet Drive. I think
it was revealed in THIS book, right after Sirius died, for a reason.I
just don't buy that JKR felt she had to kill off someone to prove DEs
are evil - book 1 started with the double murder of Harry's parents,
so I think we got that already. She's moving the plot somewhere,
people. We just can't tell where yet.
