Me:
I'm pretty certain that tese aren't his *worst* memories, just the
ones he least wants to share, or the bad memories that are closest to
the surface of his mind when he's around Harry. After all Harry's
been tortured by Voldemort and harassed by dementors, but the
memories that Snape reads are about Dudley and Cho, and the one about
cho is a good memory! ("Wet." he he!) Snape has been a Death Eater,
it's probably fairly safe to say that he's experienced worse things
than James and Lily Potter.
