Actually, I found this to be a more upbeat book than GOF. At the end of GOF, 
Voldemort is back, Cedric is dead, the MOM is in denial, and Fudge is actively 
turning against DD. From my pov, It was an unhappy ending. 

I found OotP to be challenging and sad at times but I came away from it 
feeling hopeful and excited.

BTW, who else cried with Molly & the boggart?
