Remember Lucious Malfoy is in good with the MOM and there was an 
absence of Guard there when the kids arrived.  I think the DE killed 
the guard, jinxed the thing that alllows entry from the telelphone 
booth.  They were waiting for Harry as only he and LV could actually 
handle the prophecy---remember his name and LV's were on it.  Also 
the DE's were waiting for him to grab it!

As for the HC, McGonagall did add all those points in....
