Sorry to be harsh but I keep wondering why so many people say that 
the sense of justice or nearly all good behaviour from Harry came 
from Lily and oppose Lily and James making one nearly a saint and 
the other nearly a demon. 
Indeed we know nearly nothing of Lily and of her behaviour (except 
for the current scene  where she say also  after that snape insult 
her that she would not care in the future) so in my opinion state 
that Lily was a model of virtue is bit presumptuous and we need more 
information before we can judge her (and James by the ways the 
information about this two characters can be written on a single 
page). 
I hope that in the end and James and Lily would be described as real 
characters with virtue (and die for her child is something 
important) but also flaws.
