If this message goes to show anything, (and I submit that all it 
really shows is that adolescents are vicous little buggers) I think 
it is a lesson for Harry.

He spends a great deal of this book being angry at the way those 
around him perceive him. I think, if anything, he is meant, not to 
learn to dislike James, but that the judgements and actions of 
childhood pass. Mistakes are going to be made.Those that are your 
tormentors in your youth could be your allies in your adulthood.

I think this is a lesson that Snape and Henry will have to learn 
together. Snape is overdue.
