Totally magical that other people think the same thing I'm hoping! 
And actually I can see that hagrid might not be **aware** that 
Petunia had been there. 

Alternatively: He could be quite aware of Petunia's puny powers and 
not think to tell Harry. It's just not on his list of important 
things About Hogwarts that hagrid needs  to tell him.

For another, that would give young harry a pretty miserable view of 
witches, wouldn't it? That Petunia is one...or half-of-one.
