In all the other books, due to his bravery and insight, Harry always
has a major accomplishment.
SS - Harry prevented Voldemort from getting the stone and rising
again.
CoS - Harry saved Ginny Weasly and prevented Voldemort from rising
again from the diary.
PoA - Harry cleared Sirius' name and exposed wormtail (at least to
himself) and helped Sirius escape.
GoF - Harry saves himself from Voldemort and returns to try and warn
everyone. (It is also possible, that he defeates Voldemor'ts plan to
return to Hogwarts through the tri-wizard cup portkey and go on a
killing rampage there)
Now in OoP, Harry will to play the hero has gained him nothing but
the death of a beloved godfather. In the other book he does something
smart and ends up helping people. in the fifth book his reason for
failing, and being tricked by Voldemort, was his stubborness for not
wanting to study occlumency. Because of mistake, he was lured into the
Ministry of Magic and then tries to bail himself out by saving the
prophecy. He "saves" the prophecy from Voldemort, who would have
gained nothing from it either way. I think this book is a major
letdown from the Harry we once knew. It seems Hermione was right and
he just wanted to play the hero.
If you want to say that now everyone knows that Voldemort is back and
that is what Harry's accomplishment was, that is just a by-product of
what happened.
This bothers me to no end. I hope someone can help me!!!
