Meri writes: And lets not forget one of the more active denziens of
the Hogwarts hallways: Peeves the Poltergiest. At the end of the
Flight of the Fat Lady chapter in PoA it is stated that the
Headmaster is the only one who can control Peeves (I don't have my
books with me, if someone would be so kind as to check my refrence),
and I would assume that Peeves is one of the main avenues of
information flowing to DD. He is ever present, can scent
troublemaking a mile away, and is seemingly loyal to DD (note his
spate of rule breaking aimed at Umbridge at the end of OotP). The
ghosts may very well also be important. IMHO Hogwarts is a refuge of
sorts for homeless ghosts (as Myrtle was forced to return to the
school after haunting Olive Hornby for quite some time). They
probably have their loyalties to DD pretty well in order, even the
Bloody Baron (what was he Baron of, anyway?). We also speculate
about the cats belonging to the two known Squibs, Flich and Mrs.
Figg. But what about the other pets at the school? People have
commented about Hedwig's intellegence, and Hagrid did pick her out
for Harry, so could she be a part of a spy network? Could Pig? Could
Trevor? Who knows?

Meri again: Well, we've only seen crystal balls used for Divination,
and we know that DD doesn't really take that too seriously, but a
wizard of his stature and skill could probably use one for whatever
he wanted.
Meri - signing off, and laughing about how another one of her
signatures has been mutated into its very own post series! You guys
rule at that!
