Was US POA audio modified from UK or US print?

You've answered your own question. 

'Bangs' is American English and doesn't occur in the UK editions (no 
Brit would normally use it unless attempting to write/speak American) 
so it's almost inevitable that the audio edition was taken from he US 
version.

I'd never looked at that part of the Lexicon before and hadn't 
realised quite how intriguing some of those differences are, but 
that's a discussion for OTC, I think.
