I havent quite imagined the ending that JKR might have in store but I have 
thought of a likely place for it to happen. There has been a lot of mention 
of the underground throughout the books, as in:
(1)            The London underground map-like scar on DDs knee
(2)	The Chamber of Secrets and its many pipes
(3)	The underground at the Ministry
(4)	The underground beneath Gringotts

This last underground area (4) is where I feel the final duel or 
confrontation will take place.  In SS pg. 74 & 75 When Hagrid and Harry are 
riding in the cart they go over a ravine and they also passed over an 
underground lake. There were a couple of things that drew me to this place 
for a last stance. The underground could likely be connected by way of the 
lakes (the one under Gringotts and the lake at Hogwarts). This would allow 
so many alliances to be helpful to Harry in his final quest, such as: 
Moaning Myrtle, the merr people, the squid or maybe even Victor Krum in his 
shark head. A lot of other interesting characters that could show up, not 
via the waterway, might be some of Hagrids old friends like Aragog or even 
Norbert (dragons supposedly protect Gringotts). Even the goblins themselves 
may take part.
I feel there will be quite a few of the past characters to make an 
appearance to aid Harry in his final battle.
What better use for the map on DDs leg but to lead others through the 
complicated passage-ways that lie under Gringotts?
