I had an interesting dream once, quite long ago, in which the hero of
the dream has to go on a long quest, which ends at this underground
stone circle-terrace with seven doors leading off. The quest was in
pursuit of a dark being, which they finally overtook there. The hero
had two friends with them - and when they overtook the dark thing, it
began to flee. The hero then rushed after it in a fit of rage and
desperation. The dark thing turned on it to kill it, and the hero
grabbed the first thing they could find and stabbed the dark
creature. That thing was the horn of a unicorn that the dark creature
had killed and eaten.
That, of course, made me think about the unicorn that LV had killed
and drank the blood of in PS/SS. Could be be possible that, since LV
is now living "a half-life, a cursed life" that the way to bring
about his destruction is to confront him, infect him, with the very
purity and innocence that he had used to sustain his horrible
existence? There has been a fair emphasis on unicorns throught the
books without ever looking at them to deeply - maybe LV will be
brought down with the horn of a unicorn (or by the hands of an
innocent) whose life he destroyed to benefit himself?
