Me:
I just reread the scene in OotP and I think there is a good possibility that Lilly
and Snape had a history prior to the scene. She reacts rather cooly to the slur
he spews at her, almost like she expects it. Maybe I am reading to much into
this but I like this theory. What if Lilly and snape are brother and sister with a
muggle mother and pureblood father? The father ashamed of his mixed
children (or possibly his family) he cannot recognize the mother of his
children. He takes his son, Perseus, who looks like him, and changes his
name to Snape, leaves his daughter, Lily, who favors her mother, and Snape
appears to be a pureblood, Lily is passed off as never having a magic parent
etc. However, Lily and Snape still know about eachother. Interesting thought
to pick apart.
