I think you hit the nail on the head here.  Lucifer was an angel, who
*chose* to deny God and was sent to Hell.  Lucius may mean light, but as the
running theme goes, it's our choices that determine who we are.  Lucius
*could* choose to align himself with DD, but instead he chose Voldemorte.
