Geoff:
Don't forget that a being may change names as they make choices in a
situation where names reflect a person's character. Biblically,
Lucifer was the greatest angel, his name meaning "light bringing
morning star" who became Satan "the adversary" in the same way that,
in the Silmarillion, Melkor, the greatest of the Ainur, "he who
arises in might" became Morgoth "the black enemy".
